Loading animation built in Rive
This was an exploration in crafting a loader that feels fluid, intentional, and visually satisfying, something that draws just enough attention to keep users engaged during wait times, without overwhelming the interface.
I focused on motion rhythm and curve refinement, using easing that gives the animation a sense of natural momentum. The loop is designed to feel continuous and smooth, with no harsh stops or visual noise. Subtlety was key, the kind of motion that becomes part of the experience rather than a distraction from it.
Rive’s real-time editing and state machine system made it easy to test loop behaviors, fine-tune timing, and explore variations quickly. Compared to traditional motion tools, it really streamlines the animation workflow, especially for interface-driven motion like this.
Would love to hear what kind of motion makes a loader feel right to you, more playful, or more calming?
